Atma Ram Kumar Sabha Senior Secondary School

Education is the foundation of any society which brings economic wealth, social prosperity and political stability. Keeping this in view, Atma Ram Kumar Sabha Sr. Sec. School was established to eradicate illiteracy from the society to the maximum extent. The institution has been serving this historic city with sincerity and dedication for the last more than 63 years. It was founded in 1955 when Seth Chiranji Lal (Navyug Wale) came forward with a liberal and generous donation to commemorate the name of his uncle Seth Atma Ram. The moving spirit behind this noble cause was the great social worker, Sh. Dasondhi Ram Birji, popularly known as Birji Maharaj’. 
This institution came into being because of his passion to serve the society. In 1986-87, +2 system was introduced under National policy of Education in this Institution. The present institution, has spacious play ground and facilities for indoor and outdoor games like Athletics, Hockey, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Marshal-arts etc. are the inseparable part of the institution. Our school cricket team also got second position in India in the PCA Parle-G cup held at M.Chinnaswami Stadium, Bangalore. Great Indian cricketers S/Shri Javagal Srinath and Brijesh Patel honoured the team with glittering Trophy and a handsome cash prizes. The school has produced number of great Indian Cricketers like S/Shri Maheshinder Singh, Pankaj Dharmani, Sunil Saggi, Ravi Inder Singh and Sarabjit Ladda. They all are the Ranji Players. The last two also played IPL cricket matches.
Our Science Projects – “Remote Sensing Applications for National Development”, “Eyes in the Sky – Radar Remote Sensing”, “Global Epidemic – Diabetes”, “Energy – The Torch Night Star” won accolades in the district and at state level. Science exhibition, science quiz, and science fairs are organized to charge the grey cells of the budding scientists.

Further in view of the need of the hour , the schools streams have been separately classified now as Primary wing, Middle wing and Secondary wing so as to have much focus on the quality of education from the very start entry which are being manned by well experienced and qualified teachers. Besides smart rooms equipped with latest educational gadgets for the classes have been created. Further more the performance of teachers is reviewed from time to time and are updated where needed so as to impart best education to the students.

S.D.K.S Shakuntla Girls Sr.Sec.School, Patiala

S.D.K.S.Shakuntla Girls Sr. Sec. School was founded in 1948 by S.D. Kumar Sabha, the inspiration behind this new venture of the Sabha was. Shri Dasondhi Ram Birji who was the embodiment of selfless social work. The school has been named after Ms.Shakuntla Gupta, a philanthropist and a lady committed to the spread of education. She donated her wealth to construct the spacious building which houses the school. This spirit was widely cheered by the residents of Patiala.

The institution is proud of a standard library with the latest books for the intellect development of students. 

The school has earned a name in the field of sports, co-curricular activities and music. Every year, a good number of our students participate at Punjab and National level competitions from time to time. We have specialised coaching in Softball, Badminton, Kho-Kho, Baseball, Basketball. It is a matter of great pride that one of our students represented India on the International Level in Table Tennis. With sustainable efforts of all , the strength of the students has been on the increasing trend.

Donations to run the Sabha is under great financial stress as both the schools do not charge any fee from the students. We therefore seek your patronage for the cause.
